Sudoku... an all-time favorite for many can be taught at a very young age.

For this activity you will need:
- Paper/cardboard
- Scissors
- Markers
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Colors
How to:
- Decide on 8 images your child likes and draw them in 8 small boxes to use on Sudoku cards.
- Color the images.
- Divide paper/cardboard into 4 square cards. Divide each square into 4 boxes. Draw 2-3 images in each square card, depending on level of difficulty.
- Outline each square card with a marker.
- Cut each square card.
- Color the images in the square cards.
*Note: Every 4 images make one set. For this activity, you will have 2 sets.
Procedure: (Ages 3-4)
- Provide child with one set at a time.
- Set 1 includes 4 images: shirt, peach, star, and cheese.
- Set 2 includes 4 images: box, kite, key and fish.
- Provide the child with square cards for set 1 and the 4 images that belong to the set.
You can opt for all cards to have one empty box or two, depending on level of difficulty.
- Easy: One empty image in the square card.
- Challenging: Two empty images in the square card.
- The child completes each square card with the missing image.
Challenge: Provide your child with both sets (set 1 and set 2) and all 8 image cards. Have the child find the missing images for each square card from 8 image cards instead of 4.
