How Many Naps Should My Baby Have In A Day?

Naps are a must and of high importance for the human body regardless of age. That need is even higher for babies and children. Research & science have shown that naps have so many benefits for a child's mental, physical, emotional, and behavioral development.

These age-by-age guidelines will give an idea of the average daily sleep needs:

  • Newborn - 6 weeks: 4-6 naps
  • 6 weeks - 3 months: 4---> 3 naps
  • 3 - 6 months: 3 naps
  • 6 - 9 months: 3---> 2 naps
  • 9 -12 months: 2 naps
  • 12 months- 18 months: 2---> 1 naps
  • 18 months -3 years: 1 nap
  • 3 years - 4 years: 1---> 0 naps
